I think this happened on the HS Show, as Stern is a big Match Game fan...There was an interview in 1991 where Gene Rayburn gave his thoughts on game shows. He said some good things about some hosts, bad things about others. One interesting comment was when Gene dissed Richard Dawson. He said "You know, Richard never smiled. Now, his real name is Richard Veisaid, and he was knighted in England for being on my show for so long. On Feud, he would always reveal the number of people who said an answer in Fast Money by saying 'I, Sir Veisaid.' The show got canned in 1985, and when it came back in 1988, they got this younger guy who worked at NBC named Ray Combs. Ray would salute Richard whenever he would reveal the results in Fast Money by saying 'Our Sir, Veisaid.' I like Ray, but I just hope he isn't including me when he says that, because that rotten bastard Dawson isn't MY Sir."
Anyone have audio of this? Was it on the WWOR show?
